When our shadow stare us back.

Jakob Owens

Julie stared at the moon shaped mirror. The eyes staring back at her were dark green. It was her eyes, she knew that, but still, she felt disconnected from the reality.

Who am I?

Am I the person staring back at me?

She took a deep breath. One. Two. Three times.

Julie didn’t know what to use to ease the pain. Weed. Wine. Ecstasy. She knew she should escape in a way. But from whom? If that person staring back at me is me, how can I escape?

If those eyes are mine then how can I run from myself? It will follow me. It because Julie doesn’t know what it is. The thing staring back at her. Could be her. It because it is something she cannot understand. Not an object. It. It keeps staring back at her everywhere she goes.

She cannot escape.
